How we work

We offer a range of different services to help you realise your project and can be involved as much or as little as your project requires, from working in conjunction with your architect on interior layouts and interior detailing, the interior design of a whole house, a kitchen or bathroom, help with a new extension or just a simple room update depending on your needs.

Ribton Turner Design can be contracted either as a stand alone service or in conjunction with an architect or building contractor; we have had many successful collaborations over the years in this way.

We also work with a network of skilled tradespeople and suppliers to ensure that each project is delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Co-ordination

Every design starts with a brief - a detailed discussion of your aspirations and requirements for your new design. The brief sets the parameters of the design and a quotation for our services will follow from this. We can be involved as much or as
a little as you require, whether it be simply devising a concept direction for you to follow yourself or a turnkey service.  If you have involved an architect, this is an ideal time for us to start working collaboratively to ensure that the interior and exterior are considered as a whole. We can also recommend our preferred architects.

The early stages of the design process involves research and thinking time, during which the brief will be interpreted into a set of digital concept boards and sample packages that act as a 'springboard' for the design direction throughout the process.

This is where the ideas from the concept designs are developed into real schemes that represent the furniture, finishes and fittings that together create the design. This is an iterative and collaborative effort between us and the client, with the goal of creating a design that meets the client's needs and reflects their personal style. Electrical and Lighting layouts as well as visuals are the tools used to create and present the designs. We can also design bespoke joinery - from wardrobes and library shelving to boot rooms - to truly tailor the
design to your requirements.

Once the design visuals are agreed, we produce a costed Specification spreadsheet, recommending the right products, finishes and service providers to ensure the design can be realised as intended. This specification covers a wide range of areas from electrical and plumbing plans, to tile plans, joinery specifications, panelling schedules and everything else required before installation.

Procurement is where we start to source all the individual items for the project, from ordering from trade suppliers, designing bespoke furniture to sourcing antiques and one off pieces including art.

We will also take away the stress of liaising with the builders with regular site visits, and general support and guidance to help your project run smoothly.
Once the building works are complete, we can also oversee the window dressing, furniture and decorative accessories installation and styling.
